Other Voices Records are proud to present Tobias Bernstrup's new album 'Sing My Body Electric'. Tobias Burnstrup who works both as a visual artist and musician has been active for more than a decade and positioned him self as one of the leading re-inventors of Italo Disco with his unique mix of Italo, New Wave and Gothic Noir. He has created his own unmistakable stage persona wearing androgynous outfits of shiny latex and heavy make-up. The new album contains 11 smashing tracks, and some exciting guest vocal appearances. Among these Videodrome featuring vocals by Pascal Languirand of the legendary Trans-X. Other guests vocalists are Paola, Saralunden and finally; the Jan Hammer-like ballad 'No Time To Die' where Bernstrup sings a duet with Miss Liz of 'Xeno & Oaklander'.
Check the new band of Dean Hathaway (ex-Uninvited Guest) - RAZOR CUT. The first track is online. The album is coming up! JOIN & LISTEN!!! _ _ _ Razor Cut was created in February of 2011 by Dean ‘Sweeney’ Hathaway (vocalist, lyricist, tantrums and tiara’s and occasional drug’s mule ) and Ricky Raze (guitarist, programmer, sex god and dedicated Internet porn researcher). Razor Cut was originally intended as a side project to Uninvited Guest but it became clear as time went by (and with the imminent collapse the previous band) that it was to become much more than that. Uninvited Guest split in June 2011, and Razor Cut by this time was well on its way to having a full album of material written…but there was a piece of the plan missing, So Dean and Ricky asked old band mate Jane Dalton (Bass guitarist, web designer + DJ) if she would like to join and complete the line up…she said yes…and there you have it, Razor Cut was completed in July 2011. The band is currently in the process of completing their debut album, which will hopefully be ready for your eager ears in the autumn… but fear not, there will be tracks posted online and on this site VERY soon, keep checking back to this news section for up to date details. Razor Cut music is a combination of dance drum beats, heavy guitars , dirty synthe and catchy infectious melodies with a large dose FUN thrown in for good measure. We’re very proud of it and we cant wait for you to hear it. Fasten your seat-belts…its gonna be one hell of a Ride! ;-) Respect and best wishes Razor Cut 2011″
March Violets is a legendary post-punk/goth band from Leeds, UK. These days we are facing the March Violets re-union with a lot of new visual and sound material! Here's the wonderful interview with the band!
After a certain period of silence we offer you to read our interview with Engelsstaub that is dedicated to the release of the new “Nachtwaerts” album. Engelsstaub is a German gothic rock band, founded in 1992 by Mark Hofmann as a follow-up to his previous band Les Fleurs du Mal. Engelsstaub's music leans toward the ethereal/neo-medieval end of the gothic spectrum, with stylistic similarities to bands like Ataraxia, The Dreamside and Faith and the Muse.
First time ever in the 21st century we are ready to present you interview with 80's minimal wave project Marcie's Still Waiting (MSW).The questions were answered by the saxophonist - Mr Rainer Winschermann. Unfortunately, the period of MSW activity wasn't so long and that was the main reason why the project didn't get a serious fanbase and feedback. Today in the age of internet and other digital techonologies we will try to recover Marcie's Still Waiting music from the ashes of history. We hope that this interview could be a good start of this process.
The interview with Razorfade is available. Originally this interview was planned to be out in November 2010 to support the release of the debut full-length "This clear Shining". Considering some technical difficulties we are able to publish it only now. Enjoy Razorfade is reinterpreting alternative goth / electronic music. The band features ex-members of famous SUSPIRIA and IKON projects. The concept of Razorfade reveals a dark electronic sound approach with a mix of atmospheric guitar and vocals reminiscent of 90's trad. gothic rock music.

The March Violets were an extraordinary band. An unlikely and unique group that probably shouldn't exist.“ A really great band. They were label-mates with The Sisters of Mercy, yet darker and infinitely more messed up than them” There is a twisted sense of humour shining through the songs they themselves described as Simplistic Pop Anthems for the Blank Generation. They made their first live appearance in Leeds in 1981, full of post-punk energy and savage poetry, and put out 2 records on Merciful Release before forming their own record label, Rebirth. This particular time and place is regarded by some as the origin of Goth Rock. And looking at the other bands from the area: Danse Society, The Sisters, Southern Death Cult, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, etc., it could be true. The Violets caused a stir through the early eighties with anthems like 'Snake Dance' and 'Walk Into The Sun’, which still regularly feature on darker dance floors. The Violets weren't just Gothic Doom Rock; they had Soul and a dark jagged energy that threatened to tear itself apart. Inevitably they imploded... They reappeared for a legendary reunion show in 2007, and then disappeared again, finally resurfacing in 2010 for their first London show in 25 years and began writing their debut album! 2011 sees some sweaty little 'back to the punk-roots' warm-up gigs before headlining festival dates around Europe, and the release of that LP: 'Made Glorious'. The demo tracks that have slipped out demonstrate that the Violets have lost none of their original vision. It is quite weird how nothing much has changed. There have been countless versions of the original bands from the 80s, and copies of those copies, but there is nothing quite like going back to the source. With an inbuilt irreverence and a rule-breaking grin, the independent spirit shines through. For those of you who are tired of being told that the latest crap copy of (fill in blank with classic band) is the new sliced bread, this IS the real stuff, it just sounds RIGHT. Play Loud, Play Purple..
Line-up: Male Vocals; Si Denbigh, Female Vocals; Rosie Garland, Guitar; Tom Ashton, Bass; Jo Violet, Drums and Noises; A Machine.
Long time passed since our last "Significant Releases" update. Certainly there were released a lot of good albums, but as always, we recommend you only the best ones among them. Most of the presented CD's could be considered as goth ones which is a good sign of the development of so-called gothique music resurrection. Check this article!
Hidden Place is an Italian project with pure 80's wave-electro sound. If you missed your favorite decade, it's a chance to turn back time. At least, in musical way. Read the interview!
